Don’t email to ask us if we accept guest posts. This tells us you are completely unfamiliar with our blog, and your email will be deleted.

Don’t email pitches. Only completed posts will be considered. If after reviewing our archives you’re still not sure if your idea is a good fit for us, it probably isn’t.

Don’t ask for assignments. When we come up with great blog post ideas, we’ll write them ourselves. We’re interested in your ideas.

Below are a few guidelines to make sure that we’re a good match for each other.

Basic requirements:

  • Your submission must be 100% original and unique. Please do not re-post material you’ve already published elsewhere, and please do not re-post the material after we publish it on our blog. We reserve the right to refuse or delete posts that do not adhere to this request.
  • While we do not specify an exact word length, we do ask that you use your best judgment; if a submission is too long or too short to constitute a complete yet succinct post, we will ask you to revise before we publish. (The ideal post will be between 400 and 800 words; however, this may vary due to your subject matter.)
  • Click&Inc does not pay for guest posts.
  • Along with the body of your article, please submit a brief author bio (1-3 sentences, please) telling us a little bit about yourself. This will be published at the end of your post. This may contain up to two links.
  • Please note that we are a US-based company that helps other US-based companies incorporate. As such, please understand that US-based links and resources are the most appropriate for our readers. We are not able to post links to your UK-based businesses (or other non-US countries) in your guest post unless other arrangements have been made. Thank you for your understanding.
  • If we approve an article topic but the content is not up to our standards, we reserve the right to refuse publication. (For example, a post titled “Secrets of Successful Small Business Owners” that consists of thinly veiled content marketing your own company will be refused.) Self-serving links should be used sparingly; see below.)


  • Articles profiling your own company or affiliates are not accepted from guest bloggers unless arrangements have been made.
  • We reserve the right to refuse any content that we feel is self-promotional, low quality, or otherwise not fit for our readers.
  • Please limit the topic of your article to something that will directly help small businesses. (Review the Essential Posts provided in the right sidebar for examples of good, appropriate content.)
  • Please provide a title that appropriately reflects your article’s content. We reserve the right to modify your title if we do not find it appropriate.


  • Please follow accepted conventions: regular sentence caps, terminal punctuation, italics/boldface used sparingly for emphasis, and so on.
  • We reserve the right to copyedit your post to adhere with our editorial standards and for grammatical correctness. We will not be able to run these edits by you before publishing.
  • If you’re wondering, we refer to the Chicago Manual of Style. (If you’re not, don’t worry about it.)
  • Consider breaking up long sections with headings; we reserve the right to add headings and subheadings when appropriate if you do not.
  • We reserve the right to (but do not promise to) add images to your post when we publish it. You may submit images to which you have distribution rights if you like; we may or may not use them.


  • We reserve the right to add links to any past blog posts or websites that we deem appropriate for your content.
  • You are welcome to include links in the body of your post (one of which may be to an article or post on your own website), provided that any in-text link is legitimately useful in the context of the article. We reserve the right to remove those we feel are not contextually appropriate or that directly compete with our business.
  • Please limit your self-serving links to two per author bio.
  • Do not provide the same link more than once.

We reserve the right to refuse articles that we do not judge to be appropriate. Here’s a hint: if your industry has little or nothing to do with small business (contact lenses, home insurance, houseplant care), we may not be the best fit for your article.
